End of School Year Update

I love manatees- alot. I also love teaching. This past year and a half, I have had a lot of personal and family issues that have prevented me from doing all I wanted to as far as manatee advocacy and education, but things are looking up, so I'm setting goals for next school year, and plan on taking the summer to put some new things in place to help me educate the children at my school, in my parish, and my state about manatees. Too many adults and kids still say "What is a manatee?" and I just can't have that! So, as I reflect on this past year, I think of all the students who came to me saying " I want to learn about manatees!" or "Will you teach me about manatees?" and more often than not, the answer was yes, but...... So I am going to try to make some changes, and will keep everyone posted. One thing I did that I was very happy about was making my HUGE manatee above my bulletin board in the hall. It is incredible!
I created the mardi gras mask for it, and this upcoming school year, plan on creating accessories for every holiday and event! I'll definitely be reporting back with photos!! . One other thing I would like to mention is that Save the Manatee Club has a new website! It is so gorgeous! Please check it out, and support them. They are a great bunch of people working so hard for such a phenomenal cause. I don't know where I or the manatees would be without them! Visit them at Be looking for my next blog post where I show off all my manatee planner gear from Erin Condren and other great manufacturers!
